The People that You'll Meet...

...in your neighborhood. Remember that from Sesame Street? It's so true of the romance community. I'm continually amazed by the fabulous people I meet in this crazy game we call romance writing.

This is my first year out there, and it's been crazy, but fabulous. Along the way, I've met so many wonderful people: readers, bloggers, editors, other industry professionals, and of course fellow authors. I've gotten tips and advice on writing to marketing and everything in between. Everyone, without exception, has been welcoming and supportive. Every. Single. One. Mind you, I'm not a Polyanna. Nor am I naïve. I know they're out there, somewhere. Those nasty people who hope you'll fail. But so far so good.

Why can't the rest of the world be like this? I know it's not that simple. I know the world is a scary and complicated place. But maybe, just maybe, we could all learn to get along a little better.
